Two Year old Mayce Leah Brower born June 2, 2004 to James and Sarah Brower was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma in Nov 2006. Rhabdomyosarcoma is a fast-growing, highly malignant tumor which accounts for over half of the soft tissue sarcomas in children. Rhabdomyosarcoma tumors arise from a cell called a "rhabdomyoblast", which is a primitive muscle cell. Instead of differencing into striated muscle cells, the rhabdomyoblasts grow out of control. Since this type of muscle is located throughout the body, the tumors can appear at numerous locations.

Little Mayce, only 2 years old has already expereienced the following:
Loss of her hair
Loss of hearing in her right ear
Loss of ussage in her right vocal
Her cancer is non -operable so she must undergo chemo and radiation.
With all our prayers Mayce will complete, 6 weeks of radiation and 15 months of chemotherapy.

This has been a life changing experience for the Brower Family who reside in Moscow Mills Mo which consist of, Mom (Sarah) and Dad (James), Big Brother Devin at the young age of 7, and 18 yr old Matt, a foreign exchange student from Germany who has become the “big brother”.

Sarah had to give up her job to be by little Mayce’s side. James, an employee at Missouri America Water Company, is currently on leave from work to also be there for his little girl.

To Sarah, James, Devin & Mayce-
What do you say? We love your family so much. We hope that you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers daily and you are a very special part of our lives. Although our hearts ache for Mayce every single day, we have the comfort of faith and hope because we know God's hand is on Mayce's shoulder every second she breathes. You all have unbelieveable burdens, but carry them with strength. You are truely inspiring to watch and a great family. We love you now and will love you always. EVERY ONE OF YOU!!! God Bless Your Family-Brian, Dana, Jared, Alix & Kennedy Ray

I will look for updates daily, it saddens me to hear this awful experience you are going through. I have a 17 month old little girl and cannot imagine what this would be like, please know our thoughts and prayers are with you. From the bottom of our bottom, take care and GOD speed. The Wunderlichs.
